College Supports

College is a major milestone for students. It is a time when they move into a challenging new world of freedom, responsibility, new peers and unfamiliar surroundings. We continue to offer the customized support they need in college to help them succeed.

Our college program supports CSF Scholars beginning with the high-school-to-college transition through college completion and helps them prepare for their career. We've created an efficient scholarship system to select, award and disburse various scholarships for underserved students including foster youth.

College Services

We offer different levels and types of support to suit the individual needs of our students. These supports help promote student engagement, academic success and persistence towards graduation:

  • College Coaching and advising. CSF Scholars who graduated from high school and received pre-college services through the CSF Achievers program or received a CSF scholarship are connected with a CSF coach who welcomes, guides and supports them on their college journey. CSF coaches provide college advising and networking opportunities with peers and professionals, cultivate a sense of belonging within the campus community, and give knowledge and resources about paying for college. They also help with choosing the right course of study to achieve career goals and finding internship opportunities.
  • Access to online tools and resources.
  • A support network of CSF Scholars, alumni and staff to help successfully navigate the college journey and promote student success.
  • Financial and career planning to help students make cost-effective college choices and successfully pay for college as well as explore careers and programs of study.
